One of the biggest hurdles that I believe stands in the way for most of us is that we consider belief to be a noun, something that we possess. But I have discovered belief to be a verb, something that we must consistently do. Belief is always made evident in the doing. Simply being is not enough, that’s faith without works. Belief is a tangible expression of our sincerity towards our most intimate desires. Truth be told, it is the manifestation of our thoughts and expectations.
There is exceptional power in our belief. There is transformative power in our belief. There is power to manifest and curate life experiences in our belief. Therefore, we must BELIEVE; and we must BELIEVE with intention. Without intention, our belief becomes subject to our present circumstance. And that’s where most of us get in trouble. We’re not intentional enough. We get sidetracked by lesser goals, sacrificing our desires for momentary satisfaction. I heard it said this way before, “we are kept from our goals, not by obstacles, but by easier paths to lesser goals.”
I believe the most challenging thing about belief is that it’s omnipresent, and the power it holds is too. You can’t escape belief. Another reason we must BELIEVE with intention. Understanding that without intentionality, our belief is subject to our present hardships, which rarely look like our desired outcome. And because we tend to believe with our eyes more than we do our hearts; we often settle for less than we set out to accomplish.
Mark 11:24 says:
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, BELIEVE that you have received it, and it will be yours.” – Mark 11:24
In essence, what you believe is what you see, but most believe it’s the other way around. Truth is, if you have to see it to believe it, you’re too late. Believe that!
